Staging Pictures: Early Polaroids by Robert Stivers, the artist’s sixth book, focuses on Robert Stivers' working Polaroid prints, shot with a Hasselblad Polaroid back for instant proofing of lighting and composition of his subjects. Stivers then transformed these proof prints into experimental works in themselves with addition of marks, color, scratching, burning and the use of mixed media on the Polaroids themselves. These working Polaroid prints from the 1980s and 90s lend insight into the working process of the artist, and reveal early glimpses of the subjects that inspired Stivers to create his fine art photographs.

Deluxe Collector’s Edition of 25 signed and numbered copies, with one unique Polaroid and one hand-printed gelatin silver print, both signed verso by the artist, presented in a custom archival box by Jace Graf of Cloverleaf Studio in Austin, Texas.
