Building on the considerable success of the earlier publications "Hijacked 1. Australia and America" (2008) and "Hijacked 2. Australia and Germany" (2010) this volume is again an expansive photographic anthology that compels us to consider two socially divergent and disparate photographic nations.
This time editor Mark McPherson and his coeditors juxtapose the United Kingdom and Australia to stimulate conversation, suggest connection and invite deconstruction. "Hijacked 3" showcases the diverse talents and perspectives of 32 contemporary British and Australian photographers, again focussing on the depiction and representation of the young, the boundary-riding, and fringe-dwelling.
