Thilde Jensen

Thilde Jensen was born in Denmark. An early exploration into film making at the European Film College, lead to an interest in photography. In 1997 she came to New York City to study photography at School of Visual Arts. She has worked for numerous magazines including Newsweek, Details and ID-Magazine. Her work has been published in Doubletake Magazine and Contact Sheet and shown at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Denmark and Society of Contemporary Photography, Kansas City. Thilde Jensen's The Canaries series about Environmental Illness has been shown at Light Work Gallery, 2011 and The Center for Photography at Woodstock, 2012. The Canaries pictures were featured in The New York Times 2011, The Observer 2011, Esquire Russia 2012 and Vision Magazine, China 2012. The Canaries project was selected for the Work's Presentation at LOOK3, 2012 and has been shown at the 2012 Dali International Photography Exhibition in China, which will continue on to other galleries throughout China. Her work is currently part of the TONY: 2012 biennial exhibition at The Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY 2012-13 and newer street photographs are showing at Philadelphia Photo Arts Center as part of 99 Days, 2012-13.
