Agnieszka Sosnowska

I was born in Warsaw, Poland and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. As a child growing up I spent many summers visiting family´s farms in Poland. My early connection to a rural lifestyle influenced many surreal memories as an adult. I have been working on an ongoing series of self portraits since 1990 that reflect these memories. Additionally, a large body documentary work on farming and local artisans has emerged as a parallel focus. I received a B.F.A in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and a M.F.A in studio teaching from Boston University. In 1996 I returned to Poland to complete a Fulbright Fellowship to document the Tatra highlanders of Poland. In 2005 I completed a American- Scandinavian Fellowship in Iceland by documenting farmers. I have since immigrated to Iceland where I live on a farm in the East.
