This Earthen Door — Amanda Marchand & Leah Sobsey. Published by Datz Press.
The digital record of Emily Dickinson’s original 66-page herbarium is exquisitely brought back to life in lush color in the anthotypes made by the artists from plants sourced from their gardens. The intense labor of researching, growing and harvesting, preparing the anthotype emulsions, making the lengthy exposures, and the thoughtfully designed book all pay homage to the poet, the landscape, and the value of sustained consideration.
