Odette England's Favorite Books of 2024

Words That Helped — Robert Adams.   Published by Steidl.

I selected Words That Helped, because the idea is simple, elegant, empowering, and, yes, helpful. Words comfort and heal. Words are relatable, contradictory, and puzzling. They penetrate and make us vulnerable, powerful, and diminutive. And more. I have over a decade’s worth of personal journals that I refer to at least weekly for inspiration and solace. I have dipped in and out of Bob’s honeypot of quotes this year and still feel tickled in finding joy. A rare gem.
