Keep The Kid Alive — Arielle Bobb Willis. Published by Aperture.
I love Arielle Bobb Willis' photographs. Colorfully dressed and draped bodies twist and contort, hug, bend backward, and fly through the air. A style that has been borrowed and repeated by many photographers on Instagram, Willis' work continues to feel original and fresh, hovering between fashion and art photography, showcasing joy while also reflecting the photographer's early struggles with depression. In many ways, it is about reclaiming one's self in moments of sadness or confusion. Having followed Willis' volley between personal shoots, commercial, and editorial assignments – all with the same bright energy and power – it's delightful to see her work magically curated in Keep The Kid Alive.
