American Stopover — Greg Girard. Published by Kominek Books.
An incredible time capsule of images from Girard’s stops in America while on his way to shoot in Asia. A mix of color and B&W images of the vibrant night and street life of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, all shot in the mid to late 70’s. Young and walking around taking pictures with barely any money to his name, way before cell phones and digital billboards, getting into chance encounters with strangers, and bringing it all home on celluloid. I can’t help but wish I was born in a different era.
