2024 was the centenary of the founding of the surrealist movement. It was on the page that all the elements that made it so vital and subversive came together – the imagery, the writing, and the design. Exhibitions of surrealism can often feel forced and unconvincing but in print the ideas and impressions that were the movement’s essence and lifeblood flowed freely and into each other. If you don’t know much about this history, Archive of Dreams is a great place to start.
