Julia Borissova's Favorite Books of 2023

and, do you still hear the peacock? — Miho Kajioka.   Published by IBASHO & the(M) éditions.

This work, which grew out of investigative journalism, becomes a requiem for an irretrievable past, combining, but not mixing, memories of disaster and fragile, romantic images that give hope, like flowers blooming in spring even in ruins. Visual and verbal layers overlap. Conveying the whole gamut of emotions, making you suffer and at the same time soothing, this book seems as whole as it can be.

Julia Borissova is an artist who creates artist's books by reinterpreting personal stories/historical facts, combining photography, collage, installation and other techniques. She is located in St. Petersburg, Russia.
