Monument — Trent Parke.   Published by STANLEY/BARKER.

Monument is the culmination of 20 years of Parke’s Australian photography, a condensation of his visually arresting and technically demanding work on the streets of Sydney and beyond. It’s a book on melancholia, on the sorrow of urban life, on the fate that we are creating for ourselves. It’s outstanding.

Colin Pantall is a writer, lecturer and photographer based in Bath in the UK. He writes for a range of publications and teaches on the Falmouth Photography MA course. His photography focusses on domestic environments and family, projects where the conflicting narratives of family, environmental and political histories collide.
