"If I Call Stones Blue It Is Because Blue Is The Precise Word is an expansive photographic journey not bound to space or time. Primordial landscapes and obscured human figures, steeped in lush shadows, penetrate directly into the viewer's own imagination and compendium of archetypes, unencumbered by reason or concepts. Currently, in the darkness of the images, I think of the first stage of alchemy, sometimes referred to as the dark night of the soul, in which one's self is turned to ash. This brilliant sequence of images and their meaning, though, won't remain static and I'm excited to come back to them in a different time of year, in a different mental space, and see what they conjure in my imagination then." — Tommy Geanakos
