The San Quentin Project by Nigel Poor. Published by Aperture.
The San Quentin Project is an unexpected journey of text and images. Although I was already familiar with Nigel Poor's work as an educator at the San Quentin State Prison for many years and a fan of the Ear Hustle podcast she produces with Earlonne Woods, this project in photobook form struck a nerve. It examines the potential of photographic images and their connection to memory and personal experience. The book is a beautiful, collaborative piece of work.
