Eclipse Body & Soul Syntax by Nick Relph. Published by Pre-Echo Press.
Relph’s surreal take on New York City pokes fun at skyscrapers, graffiti, and aspirational culture. Using a library scanning wand to photograph construction postings over a seven year period, Relph rendered a Big Apple of vertical strips sandwiched into bizarre forms. This is a document of one city's history during a time of astronomical growth, and also its imagined future. Both are twisted by Relph into clownish satire. Packed into a thick handsome softcover, his pictures are a joy to browse, and will become only more interesting with passing decades.
