Barbara Kasten, Works, is a monograph filled with both scholarly essays and images that highlight Kasten’s fifty-year experimentation with light and perception through multilayered studio constructions. The chronological presentation of works from the 1970s to 2019 shows the many ways the artist has physically transformed simple materials and geometric shapes into dynamic experiences in photography, video and sculpture. Kasten’s work is a formal yet energetic explosion of light, color and form that radiates visual energy in an overly exhausting year.
