Deanna Templeton’s Favorite Book from 2020

Pia by Christopher Anderson.   Published by Stanley/Barker.

This photobook took me out of isolation in California, almost an escape from reality, to the beautiful architecture and landscape of and around France. I can't get over Christopher's use of light, his colours and hues are astounding. And then there is his affectionate eye towards his family, mostly his daughter, Pia, in this book. The photographs are warm, intimate and full of love. It was exactly what I needed right now. And the letter in the back, written from the father (Christopher) to his daughter, well that just sealed the deal.

Honorable Mentions:
The Illusion of an Everlasting Summer by Alessandra SanguinettiĀ
Entangled by Maude Arsenault
