Barbara Bosworth's favorite book from 2018

This is a book about a journey inspired by the epic English poems The Seafarer and The Wanderer. In Jem’s photographically eloquent version we follow alongside a lone traveler, a quiet observer of the world. We are aware of time passing in what appears to be a timeless landscape. We wander in and out of English villages while the sea and the rising moon mark our days.

In Longitude, artist Katherine Yungmee Kim beautifully connects her personal landscape to the broader political one. Her work shows that we are irrevocably intertwined to the land we are from, even across invisible borders. Datz Books meticulously crafts their books by hand, with special attention to material and structure. Together, the content and book live harmoniously.

Barbara Bosworth is a large format landscape photographer and educator based in New England.
