NEW ARRIVALS +  05.28.10 Vol 7.22

Just arrived this week, copies of Jack Pierson's Jerusalem/Abstracts published by CAC Malaga. Pierson is part of the renown Boston School, a group of photographers who knew each other while undergraduates in the early 1980s, including seminal photographers Philip-Lorca diCorcia, David Armstrong, Nan Goldin and Mark Morrisroe (see Emotions & Relations [Taschen, 1998]). Jerusalem/Abstracts consists of two books, each presenting a new body of work and housed in a handsome slipcase. Abstracts presents photographs of Pierson's acclaimed sculptural works, while Jerusalem is a remarkable body of conceptual photographs. Includes an essay and interview with the artist. Copies of this stunning monograph are now in stock.

Arriving soon, copies of Celine Clanet's Máze and Priya Kambli's Color Falls Down, both published by PhotoLucida as winners of their 2008 Critical Mass Book Awards (alongside Andy Freeberg's Guardians, which was featured in a previous newsletter). Máze presents a remarkably beautiful body of work about the Sámi, an indigenous population which spans northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula of Russia. Color Falls Down presents a complex body of juxtaposed images exploring heritage, identity and memory. Copies of these remarkable publications are arriving soon, now available for preorder.

Please note that adding a book to your shopping cart does not reserve a copy; orders must be finalized to appear in our system. However, due to the extremely limited number of some books, we cannot guarantee a copy for every finalized order. New Arrivals and Back-in-Stock items were in stock at the time that this newsletter was sent. Orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis until sold-out. We reserve the right to limit quantities.
