Arriving soon, copies of the new Ari Marcopoulos monograph Detroit 2009 published by Dashwood Books in New York. Printed on several different newspaper stocks, Detroit 2009 presents documentation of a performance by two young noise musicians in Detroit, contextualizing their performance among the tortured landscape of post-industrial Detroit. Marcopolous also has a video of the performance in the Whitney Biennial this year (on through the end of May). Copies arriving soon, now available for preorder.
In our Back-in-Stock category this week, several publications of which we have limited remaining quantities. First, Tableaux a satisfying and overarching exploration of the work of seminal Canadian photographer Jeff Wall, with text by Marit Woltmann. Second, signed copies of Room Service by Dutch photographer Paul Kooiker, presenting work from Kooiker's ongoing examination of the female form. Third, Archivo a stunning collection of newspapers featuring the work of artists too numerous to mention, including Miroslav Tich'y and Martin Parr. Finally, signed copies of Bill Jacobson's A Series of Human Decisions a subtle look at the context of human presence. We will not be restocking any of the above titles, so orders must be finalized quickly.
