Just arrived, German photographer Olaf Otto Becker's most recent monograph, Above Zero, published by Hatje Cantz. In 2007 Becker released Broken Line, a seminal publication of photographs shot over four years of traveling the Greenlandic coastline by boat. For Above Zero Becker ventured inland, traveling into Greenland's vast glacial landscape — the results are stunning — Becker's large format studies of the swiftly changing northern island are among the most memorable works to address the looming mammoth of environmental change. Copies now in stock.
Also just arrived at our warehouse, copies of Markus Krottendorfer's Stock Car, from Austrian publisher Fotohof Editions. Photographed at stock car racing events in the UK, these images may appear to an American audience like ghosts from a time long-since devoured by the megalithic force that is NASCAR. Unlike the North American counterpart however, stock car racing in the UK has retained its grass roots feeling, and these black and white images — printed as double page spreads on a black background — form a brilliantly executed essay. An edition of just 1000, so copies are limited — now in stock (no pun intended).
Please note that adding a book to your shopping cart does not reserve a copy; orders must be finalized to appear in our system. However, due to the extremely limited number of some books, we cannot guarantee a copy for every finalized order. New Arrivals and Back-in-Stock items were in stock at the time that this newsletter was sent. Orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis until sold-out.
