Lost Home is an expansive collection of ten photobooks and one book of poetry. Ten photographers were commissioned to respond to the poetry of Japanese screenwriter Nobuyuki Ishiki and were given total creative freedom to express and interpret their own idea on the theme LOST HOME. Daido Moriyama, Christian Patterson, JH Engström, Takashi Homma, Roe Ethridge, Ron Jude, Slavica Perkovic, Bertien van Manen, Terri Weifenbach & Harvey Benge contribute their photographic interpretations of the subject.

LBM Dispatch is back with the sixth installment of photographs and written word by photographer Alec Soth and writer Brad Zellar. For LBM Dispatch #6: Texas Triangle, Soth and Zellar focus on the 60,000-square-mile territory that is comprised of more than 70% of the state’s population, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and San Antonio as well as the numerous small communities in between. Soth and Zellar explore the folklore of the Old South and the Wild West through engaging portraiture of the people and the expansive area that they call home.

A Journey Through Asia by Michael Kenna presents forty-nine black and white photographs of Michael Kenna’s travels throughout Asia. The exhibition catalog of his first traveling exhibition in India takes us through Thailand, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Japan and India, where we give pause and contemplate the beauty and quiet of the natural world.

Tracy’s Apples by David H. Gibson is an accordion-style limited edition photobook presented in a clear acrylic box. The color photographs depict apples in varying states of decay — a part of Tracy Hicks’ installation piece for an exhibition entitled Botany of Desire at the University of Texas at Dallas. The book is printed in an edition of only 25 copies, signed and numbered by the artist, and includes installation photographs Tracy Hicks' artwork.

Arriving Soon

One Picture Book #81 presents Supermarket by John Divola — a series of photographs of middle-aged women shopping for groceries in Divola’s native San Fernando Valley, California in the early 1970s. The series provides a glimpse into Divola’s forthcoming monograph, San Fernando Valley, published by Nazraeli and due out later this year. Supermarket is limited to only 500 signed and numbered copies and includes an original, signed print by Divola.

Selected by Darius Himes as one of his Best Books of 2013, Stump by Christopher Anderson will be arriving soon. Himes writes, "Anderson's closely cropped portraits of American politicians caught in the act of giving their 'stump speeches' is a visual tour de force. Anderson enhances the effect by including formally identical portraits of audience members, a syrupy dose of color to balance out the intense, sweaty, grainy black and white images. Helmar Lerski's portraits made in the first part of the 20th century come to mind, but Anderson's feel more like a slap than a caress. Powerful."

The Waiting Game by Txema Salvans is an engaging documentation of the streets, intersections and roundabouts where Spanish prostitutes wait and solicit their next client. Forty color photographs tell the story of the impersonal places where, in their waiting, these women transform into objects of sexual desire and gratification.

Chiara Capodici & Fiore Pinna of 3/3 selected Food by Henk Wildschut as one of their Best Books of 2013. They write, "Food is an extremely serious book, impeccably conceived and realized. The only flaw is that it is too direct and clinically analytical to be easily accepted. This is also what makes it so effective and clear in content and form. Once you flip through it you cannot stop to think about it."
