Cedric Nunn's documentary-style photographs of social unrest in South Africa are an important document spanning more than three decades. His new book – published by Hatje Catnz – Call and Response is an exquisite selection of the photographer's work from the past forty years. Seeking social change through his imagery, Nunn has devoted his life to working with non-government agencies to show the world the realities of South Africa's apartheid. The photographs take the viewer through a harrowing journey of struggle that is not often easy to digest, but the images are as important now as they were when Nunn first snapped the shutter. Copies are now in stock and are available for order.
Elad Lassry's new exhibition catalogue from his solo show at Luthring Augustin in New York is an oddity of beauty and contradiction. The artist’s use of varying media forces the viewer to question not only what it is they are observing, but also what the artist is intending to convey. Lassry's commercial, appropriated and often slick imagery quickly becomes abstract upon turning the pages, with each image appearing drastically different from the next. His curious sequencing and perfect compositions leave the viewer in a state of awe, wondering exactly it is they just experienced. Copies are now in stock and are available for order.
Published by RM and Museo Amparo, Graciela Iturbide pays homage to the photographer's extensive career. Known for her mysterious and often foreboding description of Latin American life, Iturbide's images capture a side to life that is a depiction of reality but with a hint of otherworldly themes. Beautifully printed and divided into two sections with a double binding, this book showcases well-known photographs alongside previously unpublished images. The book is divided into four themes — children, rituals, urban spaces and gardens — and contains an archive of contact sheets to accompany the stunning photographs. Copies are now in stock and are available for order.

Now out in its second edition, Charles Woodard's The History of Photography in Pen & Ink is the subject of Melanie McWhorter's first video presentation of In-Print Photobooks. You can watch this presentation on photo-eye Blog.
We hope you enjoy this week's selection of New Arrivals!
