Issue 3 of Aint-Bad Magazine highlights photography's coming of age in a digital world. Bruce Davidson's hefty new volume Black & White is a retrospective of the photographer's prolific career. Selected from five of Davidson's most well-known works, Black & White is divided into five volumes and includes the series Circus, Brooklyn Gang, Time of Change, East 100th Street and Central Park. Housed in a hand-made slipcase, these five volumes offer newly expanded editions of his socially charged and important work. Copies are now in stock and available for order.

Another Stunning publication from Katja Stuke, Eleven to Liverpool Street, is an oversized newsprint displaying images taken on a London bus ride in April 2009. The large-scale photographs are presented as though taken from a surveillance camera and show businesses and pedestrians amid the streets of the roving bus. The second half of the publication consists of portraits of masked protesters who set out to disrupt traffic in order to highlight their concerns over the G20 summit. New from Super Labo, 7 Days Athens November 2011 by JH Engström & Margot Wallard shows the prevalent chaos and tension in the streets of Athens during the Greek economic crisis. Traveling to Athens for a lecture and workshop that was ultimately canceled, Engström and Wallard were put into a unique situation of documenting this important and volatile global event. The photographs are shown as though taken with an intense red filter, creating a heightened tension and state of urgency. Coming off of their highly-acclaimed collaboration Foreign Affair, 7 Days Athens November 2011 is sure to be an equally sought after publication. At first blush the work of photographer Sanne Sannes looks a good deal like that of his contemporaries, Sam Haskins and Wingate Paine. But Sannes, a mythical figure who died in a car wreck in 1967 at age 30, has much more in common with the psychological explorations of filmmaker Ingmar Bergman. Equal parts Brian Jones and Antonioni's lens man Thomas — the character at the center Blow-Up, Sannes was called the Marquis de Sade of Holland by some.
