Just arrived at our warehouse, signed copies of Maya De Forest's I Love Here Now, presenting 33 photographs of the artist's Japanese mother, carried by marriage to Winnipeg, a city known for the immense depth of its winter. De Forest has crafted a lyrical portrait of her mother, her daily rituals and immediate surroundings all with a refreshing refusal to draw clear conclusions — allowing the images to drift from the stark and unrelenting, to the highly romanticized. Signed copies now in stock.
Also just arrived at our warehouse, Nicholas Nixon's Live, Love, Look, Last, just published by Steidl in Germany. Here Nixon grapples with themes similar to his best known series The Brown Sisters, but with a radically different scope. Originally conceived as 4 separate bodies of work, Nixon eventually merged intimate family portraits, couples, chaotic Boston cityscapes and critically ill patients into this masterwork on interpersonal relationships, the world at large and the universal context of birth and death. All presented with the exquisite intimacy, composition and tonal sensibility which have defined Nixon's career. Copies now in stock and available for order.
Please note that adding a book to your shopping cart does not reserve a copy; orders must be finalized to appear in our system. However, due to the extremely limited number of some books, we cannot guarantee a copy for every finalized order. New Arrivals and Back-in-Stock items were in stock at the time that this newsletter was sent. Orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis until sold-out. We reserve the right to limit quantities.
